Martín Códax, Gold in Bacchus

Our flag ship, Martín Códax, is awarded in one of the most important Spanish contest, Bacchus Awards, with a gold medal.

Organized by the Spanish Union of Tasters, the prizes Bacchus are the great Spanish appointment with the world of the wine. It is recognized by the International Organization of the Vineyard and the Wine (OIV) and the Ministry of Agriculture, Feeding and Means (MAGRAMA) of Spain and it is the international competition of wines in Spain that it belongs at present to VINOFED, the federation that it integrates to the most reputed competitions to world level.

In the competition, celebrated between the 19th and the 23rd of March, wines proceeding from a total of 80 geographical indications of quality of the wine-yielding Spain were set, with 64 appellations included. Besides Spain, wines of seventeen countries of the world atlas also shared: Alemaña, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, China, Slovakia, US, France, Georgia, Italy, Mexico, Peru, Portugal, Principality of Andorra, United Kingdom, Czech Republic and Uruguai.

Our albariño, referent of the D.O  Rías Baixas, was selected by a jury formed by eighty professionals of the world of the wine standing out ten Masters of Wine, three Masters Sommelier and numerous responsible for purchases and specialized journalists. Among them, names as important as Sarah-Jane Evans, John Salvi, Demetri Walters or Andrew Howard, the Spanish Pedro Ballesteros, the Swede Madeleine Stenwreth, appear the Brazilian Dirceu Vianna Jr, the German Caro Maurer or the Americans Nicholas Paris and Robin Kick.
