From 8 p.m. on Friday, June 26th Bodegas Martín Códax will host an event to present the artistic work of Galician sculptor Juan José Lomarti. The work will be exhibited during the months of July and August.

The exhibition reflects a part of the work of Lomarti, especially the one made in recent years. It includes both painting and sculpture with a clear reference to the biology of the living creatures and their influence on emotions as a vibrant abstraction that gives meaning to existence.

After a long experience related to figuration, the real , the symbolic and the social, since 2013 the work of Juan Jose Lomarti has become a denial of any ideologies of the human being with interest in finding the extension of the material as an argument in the space where the work lies.

The public is welcome to attend, however due to the limited capacity, call 986526040 or e-mail comercial@martincodax.com to make your reservation.

 About Juan José Lomarti

He was born in Lugo in 1957 and he started in the field of arts in 1970. He is a multidisciplinary self-taught artist. He learned realism, symbolism, expressionism, material painting and conceptual art in order to feel the purity of colors and shapes in the space through the lyrical abstraction – as a denial and liberation from his previous works-  directly related to the Nature, trying that the color flows itself as freely as possible. In his work the painting, sculpture, performance, photography and writing are a part of the whole that defines the art.
