Our link with the sea has taken us to be the oficial white wine of the thirteenth edition of the Gaastra PalmaVela regatta, celebrated this May in the Palma de Mallorca bay. After four days of competition, gathering 110 boats of 17 different nationalities, the Gastra PalmaVela has shown to be a referent among the big international regattas.

Meteorology did not help the sailors from the 13 different categories, but the show did go on anyway.

The boats knew how to take advantage of the little wind they had, but in the end, the dutch Lionheart won in the Maxi category.

The TP52 has been tight. Even if five boats have gotten partial victories, the Quantum Racing was the one to win the leadership. In IRC, the final duel was a competition between the Music and the Dos Much even if, in the end, the first one has reached the first position.

Seven one-design boats were competing in the Swan 45 category for the first time, with a final victory for Elena Nova. A record has also been added to this regatta, since the Wally category has finished with a different boat leading the board every day We did not know who would win the title until the end, and with just a point between two contestants which has finally favored the J One.

The other categories have also enjoyed Palma. Both J80, Flying Fifteen and Dragon completed eight races. In the J80 category, HM Hotels won the title. In Flying Fifteen, the Fine Fettle won and in the Dragon category, the Gunter dominated from beginning to end.

The organisation distributed the 36 Singular Kitchen ORC members into four different groups. In ORC 0, the Grupo Clínico Dr. Luis Senís won the title; in ORC 1, it was Fyord-Maverta; in ORC 2, Just the Job won and finally, the Sirpy won in ORC 3-4. Among the classics, the Sonata won the Bermudiano title while the Moonbeam IV won the Cangreja category.

Finally, the Adaptive Sailing winners were Fundación Alex 1 in the Hansa 303 Individual category and the Fundación Handisport 1 in the Hansa 303 Double category.

The Real Club Náutico de Palma ( The Palma Marina) and the Real Federación Española de Vela (Spanish Sailing Federation) organised the Gaastra PalmaVela regatta, collaborating with the Federación Balear de Vela (Baleares Sailing Federation), the Club Náutic S’Arenal (S’Arenal’s Sailing Club) and the Autoridad Portuaria de Balears (Balear Port Authority).

  1. Enhorabuena, es muy importante que los vinos sigamos estando presente en actos y eventos deportivos, culturales y de todas las clases.
