Martín Códax winery pledges its firm commitment to development and investigation managing different projects in Pé Redondo, our experimental vineyard. With them we try to go into the knowledge of albariño grape and to improve the quality of our products.
2003
This investigation try to know how albariño responds to grafting carriers of medium vigor what let us study how this new techniques influence in cultivation cycles, in the production and in quality. This investigation is in collaboration with the Politecnic University of Madrid.

With Mr. José Ramón Lisarrague as the main investigator and in collaboration with the Politecnic University of Madrid, the aim of this study is to investigate new ways of vineyards conduction and the behavior of the plants with each system, having into consideration the quality and quantity of the harvest and the extent of the costs in any case.
2010-2011
Bodegas Martin Códax and two other wineries in Salnés’ Valley take part in it. The project involves establishing a sensor net in Salnés’ region to get metorology details which let us know the state of diseases.
This information will be useful as a tool to reduce the use of treatments and chemical products in winemaking.
The main aim is to create an environmental management system which contributes to the sustainable development in viticulture activity thorough the following strategies:
Biodiversity protection
Reduction of carbon emissions
Sustainable working

Different strategies using water to reduce the climate change
Different strategies of cultivation, channeled to the manage of the vineyard
