IV Kerouac Festival, Polipoético de Vigo

Festival polipoético

It is not the first time that poets flood the streets of Vigo. In fact, this was the fourth consecutive year that happens. Tens of restless agitators that show their ways of thinking, of acting and of communicate to the public. I It is the IV Kerouac Festival, Polipoético of Vigo,
Organized by La Fiesta of the Maniquíes, on the 25th of October Vigo celebrated this festival of poetry that received the participation of tens of poets and artists from Galician and from the rest of Spain. A day to see and to listen, musical poems, performances and other artistic forms of expression.
Among the Galician representatives:  Francisco Castro, one of the liveliest writers of  Editorial Galaxia, Ruth Oliveira, writer and bloguer that recently published “O Corazón tecido de Catalina”, and Jesús Tejada that presented his poetic projects with the poetess Silvia Penas(Adhesive Ribbon) and the playwright Iría Pinheiro (Dandy Lady).
In Kerouac we could also see the pictorial expressions with the works of EWA, Patrician Meira or David Arambarri or the audio-visual samples as the project FiiNDA. And it was a space to the hip hop as well, represented by Seilaesencia.
From Madrid it arrived also the media announcer and producer of radio Javier Gallego Crudo, responsible for the program “Carne Cruda”, presenting his collection of poems “Abolición de la pensa de muerte”.Batania, nicknames Neorrabioso, practiced the poetic vandalism in festivals and walls -real and virtual, with many followers in social nets- of all Spain and Olaia Pazos, ferrolana resident in Madrid, went back to the homeland with her poems of high sensitivity.
In resume, a festival that besides positioning the Vigo as poetic city in the national cultural map, shows us that poetry is modern and cosmopolitan. It stopped being gotten bored and is walked naked by the streets, galleries of art and for the bars . Poetry is necessary for  life and can change the world.
