OUR WINES

MARTÍN CÓDAX

Martín Códax was a famous Galician troubadour from the 13th century who inspired and gave his name to our most iconic wine.

Created in 1986, this Albariño is made with hand-selected grapes from our growers, sourced from plots located in the heart of the Val do Salnés. It follows a rigorous and meticulous process to ensure its varietal purity and the traditional essence of the wines native to this subzone of Rías Baixas. Each bottle is a faithful reflection of the Atlantic.

MARTÍN CÓDAX LÍAS

Its name refers to its aging on lees and represents the best example of the evolution of Albariño on its own.

Made from a selection of grapes from specially balanced vineyards, where thanks to more intensive work, a better arrangement of the grape clusters is achieved, favoring greater sun exposure and enhancing the aromatic complexity of the grapes.

After alcoholic fermentation, the wine is aged on its lees, balancing the aromas of the lees with those of the grape variety.

The result is an elegant Albariño, highly complex in aromas, with great volume on the palate, and a high potential for bottle aging.

MARTÍN CÓDAX AROUSA

An Albariño born from a careful selection of grapes from small plots caressed by the sea. Vineyards that grow at the mouth of the Umia River in the Ría de Arousa, which gives this wine its name.

Grown by winegrowers with a long seafaring and fishing tradition, the unique location of this selection of vineyards gives this wine a distinct Atlantic and saline character. After aging on its lees to enhance these aromas, the result is a true reflection of the Ría de Arousa and the terroir of the Val do Salnés, of its soils and its climate.

MARTÍN CÓDAX FINCA XIELES

This wine is a tribute to the winemaking tradition of Val do Salnés. An Albariño born from the vines of Finca Xieles, the oldest at Bodegas Martín Códax. This vineyard was planted at the end of the 19th century and forms one of the most important old-vine vineyards in Cambados.

After a manual harvest, alcoholic fermentation takes place in concrete eggs, followed by aging for 6 months in the same vessels. The result is a unique wine, born from these singular old vines that impart a special flavor, reminding us of our origins and traditions.

MARTÍN CÓDAX VINDEL

An Albariño that takes its name from the manuscript that contains the original lyrics and music of the cantigas by the troubadour Martín Códax: the Pergamino Vindel.

The selected grape clusters for this Albariño come from a highly porous, low-yield vineyard that allows for extreme sun exposure of the grapes. These conditions result in a unique ripening process that gives the grapes a pinkish hue which, after a late harvest and a meticulous winemaking process, produces a wine with great structure, a velvety character, and a unique aromatic complexity.

A white wine with the soul of a red.

MARTÍN CÓDAX GALLAECIA

Gallaecia is the first Galician wine made from noble rot, a natural phenomenon that only occurs in exceptional vintages. Its late harvest and the over-ripening of the grapes produce an Albariño with great concentration and aromatic complexity, boasting a unique identity.

The result of years of experience in cultivating Albariño, Gallaecia is the ultimate proof of the versatility of this grape, establishing it as one of the great white varieties in the world.

A unique Albariño that defies convention and can only be described as one-of-a-kind and special.

MARTÍN CÓDAX ESPUMOSO

A long-aged Brut that showcases the great potential of the Albariño grape, bringing the typicity of Val do Salnés to every corner of the world inside its delicate bubbles.

With a selection of plots located in cooler areas and harvested early, the aim is to achieve the optimal ripeness that guarantees freshness and balance. It is made following the traditional method and undergoes 38 months of aging on the lees before disgorgement, providing aromatic complexity and a fine, perfectly integrated bubble. The result is an elegant and unique wine.
