Bodegas Martín Códax closed the exercise 2013 with an invoicing of 18 million of euros, two million more than the figure billed in 2012. It means a total growth of 14%. The temporary financial states of the winery reflect besides an improvement  of profits superior to 10%, with a gross profit of exploitation that will reach two million of euros.

This growth is owed especially to the increase of the sales in the export market, which already mean 60% of the total invoicing of the winery and to which 50% of the growth of 2013 can be attributed. Countries as US, United Kingdom, Germany or the northern countries were, undoubtedly, some of the areas where the sale grew more and those that contributed to this improvement the most.

Other key operations, as the bet for new markets, does not have to be forgotten either; among them Russia and China. Specifically, in the Asian giant we already established a commercial office through the creation of a consortium with another four Galician companies belonging to different sectors. The goal is the search for importers in the main capitals and the positioning of the mark Martín Códax among the main wines in the country.

It is dealt to set the bases so that these markets take the relay of the growth in a deadline not inferior to two or three years”, explained Juan Vázquez Gancedo, Bodegas Martín Códax CEO.

Also outstanding, is the growth produced in the national market that means 25% between off trade and on trade. We have to thank for the effort carried out by this last channel that in spite of the difficult they have known how to encourage the consumption with gastronomic days, competitions, and other creative actions that have helped in a decisive way to the sector.

“Discrete but significant, the increase of the sales in the on trade in the national market mean the biggest satisfaction for the staff of the winery. Especially taking on account the hard economic moment, the pessimism installed in the consumer and the adverse climatology that did not help either this year”, comments Juan Vázquez

The growth in invoicing is due also to the good launch of Adegas Galegas

The good figures of invoicing that managed the group Bodegas Martín Códax are owed also to the good evolution that had the winery in O Condado, Adegas Galegas, acquired in 2012 by the winery.

Its invoicing is about the 800.000 euros, figure that was planned to reach in 2015 but that, thanks to the quality of the vineyards situated in Condado and O Rosal and to marks as D. Pedro de Soutomaior or Veigadares, which already are well positioned in national and international markets, this goal was achieved two years before than estimated.

The Plan of Efficiency of the winery contributes to improve  the profits up to 10%.

The temporary financial states of the group Bodegas Martín Códax reflect an improvement,  for profits superior to 10%, with a gross profit of exploitation that will reach two million of euros.

The Plan of Improvement of the Productivity, Competitiveness and Efficiency developed by the winery in 2013 contributed also to this growth. Among the strategic actions of the plan, the conversion of the old ships of Transports Núñez in a Center of Logistics where the expeditions of the five centers of production were centralized.

The center of logistics meant a smaller expense in transport besides a sensitive improvement in the reduction of the footprint of carbon improving the fixed indicators of environmental impact as goals of the social business responsibility of Bodegas Martín Códax.
